System76 Giving Away a Free Ubuntu Powered Laptop

System 76 is a big name when comes to the manufacture and distribution of computer units and hardware and they are well known for their support of free and open-source software as well as only offering  Ubuntu desktop operating system preinstalled on their computers.

The US-based computer manufacturer has recently announced that it is giving away one of its awesome Lemur laptops during the Denver Mini Maker Faire event.

The Denver Mini Maker Fair (DMMF) which is scheduled to kick off on June 11, 2016, in Denver, Colorado, USA is a multi-purpose trade fare where those that are able to attend can enjoy creations from Arts and Crafts, Science and so much more.

System76 will be among the companies showcasing new products ranging from powerful desktops to Ubuntu Powered laptops including the new Ultra Thin Full HD Lemur laptop which they will be giving away for free to any of the lucky visitors who registers at their booth.

The Lemur laptop will come in two flavours, one is powered by 6th generation Intel core i3-6100U and the other will come with an Intel Core i7-6500U CPU with a clock speed of 2.30GHz/3MB cache and 2.5GHz with 4MB cache, respectively.

The laptops will feature a 14.1-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display, an integrated Intel HD 520 graphics card, up to 16GB dual-channel DDR3 RAM running at 1600 MHz, as well as one M.2 SSD and one 2.5-inch, 7mm height drives supporting up to 2.5TB.

Connectivity-wise, the Lemur laptop ships with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a built-in SD card reader, one Gigabit Ethernet port, and support for the newest Intel Wireless-AC and Bluetooth technologies. An HDMI 1.4a port and a VGA port are also included.

The laptop sports stereo speakers, integrated stereo mic, a headphone jack, a 720p HD webcam, 5.1 channel (HDMI) audio output, and, of course, a removable 4-cell smart Li-Ion battery that will last longer than you think.
