Manjaro Linux Gaming is a Gaming-Centric Linux Distribution Currently In Works
With Linux gaming gaining a lot of traction among players and distributors as more games that are only exclusive to other platforms being ported to Linux the need for a Linux distribution is tailored and dedicated to gamers have become ever more evident.
The developers behind the development and distribution of Manjaro Linux have created a new edition of the Arch Linux based operating system with the introduction of Manjaro Linux Gaming.
This is a new flavour of the well known Manjaro Linux distribution which is built on top of the latest Arch Linux technologies and also using a highly customised Xfce desktop environment with the addition of a dark desktop setup to make spending long hours playing games easy on the eyes.
The platform is preloaded with some of the best free and open-source software that are tailored towards gamers.
“I turned off the Sleep Mode, so your computer won’t go to sleep while you’re still playing games with a GamePad or watching a long cutscene,” the developer has explained. “I added several editing tools for anyone who wants to make gaming videos or stream on Twitch.
Manjaro Linux 16.06 is said to be currently in heavy development and according to the reports, it should be out soon and will be part of the upcoming Manjaro Linux 16.06 “Daniella” as an edition of the operating system.
The operating system is expected to bring gaming software like PlayOnLinux, Wine, OpenShot, Audacity, Kdenlive, OBS Studio, Mumble, Shutter, Conky Manager, and Skype for Linux as well as a long list of gaming emulators like DeSmuME, PPSSPP, PCSX2, Stella, DOSBox, Dolphin Emulator, Yabause, ZSNES, PCSXR, Fceux, VBA-M, and Gens/GS.
