Papirus Icon Theme Receives Update And Adds More App Icons
Papirus is one of our top 10 best Linux icon themes available right now and so we happy to learn that it has been updated with new app icons.
The Papirus icon theme, derived from Sam Hewitt’s Paper theme, already supports hundreds of well-known applications, including the usual favorites like Firefox, GIMP, Thunderbird, Corebird, and Geary.
But this also means that there’s no rest for the theme’s maintainer because of all the new apps emerging all the time. And in the latest round of updates the icon pack has extended its coverage to include a good number of newcomers:
- Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
- Visual Studio Code

The Paprius icon theme is also available for download at GitHub, which is where you can also file any icon request bugs.
Papirius has been designed to work with all the modern Linux desktop environments but just remember that you’ll need to install and use Unity Tweak Tool to set the icon theme on your Ubuntu desktop.
