HOW TO FIX THE WIFI NOT CONNECTING ISSUE IN UBUNTU 16.04 AND LINUX MINT 18
Have you experienced an issue with trying to connect to a WiFi and after entering the correct WiFi password you still don’t get connected? Apparently, this problem is common on Ubuntu 16.04 and Linux Mint 18 and so we will show you how to fix it today.We don’t really know yet why it happens but it is most likely due to a bug because users have the same experience after installing Linux Mint 18 and this trick is what fixed the problem.Why Does It Happen?
On going to the network settings we noticed that our wifi password wasn’t saved and so an automatic connection to the WiFi was impossible.

So, we don’t know what causes it but we know how to fix it.
STEPS TO FIX WIFI NOT CONNECTING IN UBUNTU 16.04 and LINUX MINT 18
Head over to your Network Settings
Select the network you are trying to connect to
Enter the WiFi password under the security tab

Enter the wifi password under the security tab and click on apply to save it:
You should see that your network is connected:
