Download The Newly Released Version of Audacious Music Player

audacious

There is a new Audacious version that is ready for you to grab it.

This new version, 3.8 brings a new set of features to the table of which the ability to run more than one instance of the app at the same time is included. The reason for this feature? We don’t particularly know.

Also, new audtool commands have been added along with a stream of recording toggles, and cue sheet support.

Users can now browse music on an Ampache server thanks to a new plugin that has been added, and users can add music folders to the app from various URL protocols, including ftp and mtp.

Check out the full changelog to see the full list of the many other new features in Audacious 3.8.

Installing Audacious 3.8 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Audacious is definitely well worth checking because it is completely open-source and available for Windows, Linux, and BSD.

If you will like to lay your hands on an older version of Audacious it is available to install from the Ubuntu Software app. Just install Audacious 3.8 on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS by adding PandaJim’s PPA to your Software Sources with the following commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/apps

Next, to install both the apps and its plugins package with the command:

sudo apt update && sudo apt install audacious audacious-plugins

And that’s it!
