Get The Newly Released Blender 2.7.8 And All Its Improvements

The Blender Foundation just announced the release of the latest Blender app, version 2.78.

The release has been pitched to be “very stable” and it is being shipped with a number of key improvements and new features and although the listed features may not sound as awesome as you would expect because you aren’t particularly familiar with their implications, know that all these new features come together to make the modelling and animation tool more attractive than its commercial competitors.

Blender 2.78 Features

One of the new features in Blender 2.78 is the spherical stereo image rendering support for Virtual Reality, which also allows for the reduction of artifacts in pole merging when looking up or down.

There is also the grease pencil tool which is now a full 2D drawing & animation tool which you can use to mix 2D drawings with 3D objects and composition, and a whole lot more.

3D modeling gains more advantages from performance and memory optimizations, a new freehand curve drawing tool complete with error and corner angle options, and a few new options for bevel modal operations.

Other changes include:

  • Alembic support
  • Cloth Physics
  • Viewport Rendering improvements
  • New options for Bendy Bones
  • New Add-ons
  • Python APIs changes

Feel free to head over to the official Blender website to see a full list of the changes on offer -you can also find the download links there.
