Install The Updated The Frogr Flickr Uploader for Linux as a Flatpak
After almost a whole year of development Frogr has a new release available and that’s good news because it is one of the good photo managing and uploading tools on the Linux platform.
The new update will make it easier for users to install the latest version of Frogr regardless of which Linux distro they run as long as they have the org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/3.22 stable runtime locally installed.
Mario Sanchez Prada, the Frogr developer, has made sure that users can still authenticate to Flickr from within the sandbox and go on to view pictures and videos in any of their preferred non-sandboxed photo viewer or editors.
Installing Frogr 1.2 on Ubuntu 16.10
Go ahead and install Frogr 1.2 on your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (or above) from the official Frogr PPA by running the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mariospr/frogr
sudo apt update && sudo apt install frogr
Because the runtime requirement for the Frogr flatpak is too large we will not be able to wire a walk through for it. But if you know of any handy desktop apps that are distributed as a Flatpak don’t hesitate to let us know.
