It’s been almost a week since the Yakkety Yak was released into the world by Canonical. In fact, people are still busy installing the release. But there’s already more fun news.

Recently in a blog post, the founder of Canonical, Mark Shuttleworth, announced the name for the next Ubuntu release i.e. Ubuntu 17.04. Saying, “As we come to the end of the alphabet, I want to thank everyone who makes this fun. Your passion and focus and intellect, and occasionally your sharp differences, all make it a privilege to be part of this body incorporate”.

Shuttleworth decided that a mouse named Zapus is worthy enough to be the Ubuntu 17.04 release representative, so the new release will be called the Zesty Zapus. Its release is scheduled for April 2017 and its support will end in January 2018.

What do you think will be next for the Zesty Zapus? Do you even like the name? Drop your feedback in the comments section below.
