Download Wine 2.0 / 2.1 to Install MS Office 2013

Wine 2.0 is the first release made on the new annual release schedule which made the development team to defer some of the changes to the next development cycle, Wine 2.1, and it is now available for download. Features like Android graphics driver, full HD support, and Direct3D command (among others) that couldn’t make it in the previous release have been included in this latest one.

The stable Wine 2.0 was released after over a year in development with about 6,600 changes and its biggest highlights were 64-bit support for Wine on macOS and support for Microsoft Office 2013.

Installing Wine 2.1 on Ubuntu

As is the custom, you can use the official PPA available by entering the commands below into your terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wine/wine-builds
sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install wine-staging
